★ The plan

Platform & Key Priorities

Five priorities, each measured the same way: does it change conditions on the block for the family living there?

Quality Life. Roads. Community.

Priority 1

Safe & Affordable Housing

A home you can afford, on a block that is cared for.

  • Return vacant and blighted property to owner-occupied housing instead of letting it decay
  • Expand pathways to first-time homeownership for renters already rooted in the neighborhood
  • Hold negligent absentee owners accountable for the condition of their property
  • Protect longtime residents from being priced out of blocks they helped hold together

Priority 2

Supporting Children, Youth & Families

Young people need somewhere to be and someone expecting them.

  • After-school, summer, and weekend programming in the neighborhoods with the fewest options
  • Stronger coordination between the city, schools, libraries, and youth-serving nonprofits
  • Safe parks, playgrounds, and community centers that stay open and staffed
  • Family supports — childcare access, food security, and mentorship — treated as public priorities

Priority 3

Economic Opportunity, High-Wage Jobs & Business Growth

Growth that reaches the people already living here.

  • Recruit and grow employers offering high-wage, career-track jobs, not just headcount
  • Real access to city contracting and capital for minority-owned and small businesses
  • Workforce training tied to the trades, infrastructure, and health jobs the city is actually hiring for
  • Support corridors of small businesses as neighborhood anchors, not afterthoughts

Priority 4

Community Livability & Public Safety Partnerships

Safety is built with neighbors, not delivered to them.

  • Genuine partnership between residents and law enforcement, with accountability on both sides
  • Invest in prevention: lighting, code enforcement, violence interruption, and mental-health response
  • Cleaner, walkable streets — mowed lots, cleared alleys, repaired sidewalks
  • Neighborhood associations treated as partners in decisions that affect their blocks

Priority 5

Comprehensive City Infrastructure

The basics, delivered everywhere, on purpose.

  • Clean, reliable drinking water for every household
  • Efficient drainage and wastewater systems that stop repeat flooding
  • Modern recycling and solid waste service residents can count on
  • Public transit that runs where and when working people actually need it
  • Air quality monitoring and action in the neighborhoods carrying the heaviest burden
